Terms of use

These terms set out what you can expect from Rust Server History, and what the site expects of you.

The archive is offered as it stands. Every entry is built from Steam's public Rust server list and from the servers themselves, refreshed every five minutes. We work to keep the record accurate, but a server can log a wipe late, publish a false name, or report a population that has already moved on. Treat each figure as a dated snapshot from the live count or stored history, not as a guarantee.

Using the site. You can browse, compare and read any record without an account and without payment. Please keep your request rate low; rapid automated fetches slow the pages for other readers. If you want a fuller extract of the dataset, write to hello@rustserverhistory.org and we will discuss it.

Crawlers and AI tools. Search engines, bots and AI crawlers may index the site. Read robots.txt and llms.txt before you start; they set out what sits where. Keep your fetch rate modest so that ordinary visitors still get fast pages.

For server owners. A server appears here because it is on the public list. Its entry carries what the server itself publishes: name, tags, wipe times and player slots. To correct a record, change the setting on the server; most edits reach our logs within five minutes.

Independence. Rust Server History is not affiliated with Facepunch Studios. Rust is a trademark of Facepunch Studios.

Changes to these terms. These terms may be revised at any time. The date below marks the last revision. Continued use of the site after that date means you accept the revised terms.

Questions

What visitors ask most, answered from the archive.

Where does Rust Server History get its server data?

The site reads Steam's public Rust server list and the servers directly, and refreshes the record every five minutes. Wipe times, player slots and names are taken from what each server publishes. A population in an entry is the live count at the time it was shown.

Can I use the data from Rust Server History elsewhere?

You may browse and compare servers freely. For a fuller extract of the dataset, email hello@rustserverhistory.org and we will discuss what you need. Please keep automated requests to a sensible rate so other readers still get fast pages.

I own a server and my entry is wrong. What do I do?

Entries come straight from what your server publishes, so correct the name, tags or wipe times on the server itself. Most edits appear in our logs within five minutes of the next refresh. If an issue persists after that, contact hello@rustserverhistory.org.
