Visitor information

Privacy policy

This entry records what rustserverhistory.org does with visitor data. You need no account to read the archive.

Entries in our logs

The web server writes a standard access log for each request: your IP address, the page requested, the time and your browser type. We keep these logs for a short period to run the site and to see which entries are read. Nothing in the archive identifies an individual player.

Storage in your browser

Your choice of dark or light theme is saved in local storage on your own device. It is not sent to us.

Cloudflare

Requests to this site are delivered through Cloudflare. Cloudflare sees your IP address and may place its own security cookie when it checks a request for bots. That cookie is set by Cloudflare, not by us.

Typefaces and flags

The fonts are served from this site. The force wipe page loads country flags from jsDelivr, a public code host; your browser sends jsDelivr your IP address and browser details to fetch them. No Google service is used here.

What we do not do

We set no cookies of our own. There is no analytics script and no advertising tracker. We do not compile a profile of visitors, and there is nothing about you for us to sell or share.

Server records

The figures in each entry come from what Rust servers publish to the public server list and answer to direct queries: names, settings, descriptions, images and population totals. Population is a count, not a list of who is connected. No personal data about players is held in the archive.

Questions

What visitors ask most, answered from the archive.

Does Rust Server History use cookies?

The site sets no cookies of its own. Cloudflare, which delivers and protects the site, may set a security cookie when it checks a request for bots; that cookie belongs to Cloudflare. Your theme preference is kept in local storage in your browser and is never sent to us.

What data does Rust Server History collect about visitors?

The web server keeps ordinary access logs: IP address, pages requested, time and browser type, held for a short period to keep the site running. There are no accounts and no analytics or advertising scripts. We do not build visitor profiles or sell data, because we hold nothing of that kind.

Does the server data include information about individual players?

No. Entries draw on what each Rust server publishes to the public server list and answers to direct queries: names, settings, descriptions, images and population totals. Player counts are totals for the server, not lists of who is connected. No personal data about players is stored in the archive.
